About Professor John McMurray – Wedding & Funeral Officiant

Welcome to my ministry.

My name is Professor John McMurray, and I serve as a wedding and funeral officiant with deep reverence for the sacred moments of life and death. I am honored to walk beside individuals and families during their most meaningful and emotional milestones—celebrating the joy of love through weddings, and offering compassion, dignity, and spiritual support during times of grief through funeral services.

This is not just a job for me. It is a serious calling—a sacred trust that I carry with humility, prayer, and purpose. I approach every ceremony with deep respect, careful preparation, and a heart open to God’s leading.

My Ministry Credentials and Background

I am ordained and commissioned with the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA). These credentials reflect both my theological education and spiritual readiness to serve the public with professionalism and care:

  • Commissioned Minister (2024)

  • Ordained Minister of the Word (January 25, 2025)

  • Recognized as a wedding officiant, funeral officiant, and pastoral caregiver

  • Affiliated with Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) as a Professor, training and mentoring new ministers

  • Graduate of Dordt College and Calvin Seminary

  • Active Eucharistic Minister at Harborside Christian Church, bringing communion to the sick and dying

  • Founder of Victorious Hope Fellowship, a soul-centered outreach ministry

  • Church planter (four churches started) and long-time pastoral leader

  • Bible study leader, mentor, and Christian counselor

I have been faithfully walking in ministry for many years, with a heart for hospitality, empathy, and service.

A Lifelong Student of the Word and Spirit

I am not only a minister—I am a lifelong learner and a dedicated student of theology and ministry practice. I continue to study through CLI with the utmost seriousness, always seeking to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual maturity. I view education as a gift from God, and I use it to better serve others with clarity, truth, and compassion.

Whether I am officiating a wedding that marks the beginning of a couple’s sacred union, or guiding a family through the farewell of a loved one, I bring the same devotion, respect, and spiritual care to every encounter.
